Shrine Environment:

Fujisengen

In my most recent project since university, I was inspired by my surroundings whilst working in the remote town of Minakami in Gunma prefecture of Japan. With lots of dense woodland around where I was living and working, I wanted to recreate the atmosphere of a misty morning.

To make this environment, I modelled the Torii in Maya, textured it in Substance Painter and assembled the environment and rendered it in Unreal Engine 5.4.

Archviz Project III:

Woodland Cabin

My main dissertation project for my final year of university was to create a series of 3 different environments, with my chosen focus being on architectural visualisation (archviz). In this third and biggest instalment, I created an interactive environment scene with fluid simulation which I created in Unreal Engine 5.4. I modelled the cabin asset in Maya, then brought it into the scene to render.

Lighting Development Project:

Daruma

As a focal project on showcasing my lighting and texturing abilities, I created this model based on a real life object in which I could observe closely while modelling it. I modelled the base of the daruma in Maya, and then proceeded to texture it in Substance Painter. I created my own bump/normal maps in Photoshop which made the texture match the real washi paper effect. I then lit and rendered the turntable in Maya using Arnold renderer.
